Drug And Alcohol Addiction In Pawtucket, Rhode Island
Pawtucket is that is experiencing substance abuse issues, like the rest of Rhode Island . The National Drug Intelligence Center notes Pawtucket, one of Rhode Island’s major cities, has some of the state’s highest numbers of drug-related arrests throughout recent and previous years. For example, a recent Pawtucket drug bust included a half dozen people ranging from teens to adults faced with drug-dealing charges for Heroin. Local police conducted the arrests after a 3-month investigation, with some of the arrested having a previous history of drug dealing in Pawtucket. Unfortunately, the Heroin was mixed with Fentanyl—a highly deadly, synthetic Opioid that greatly increases the risk of an overdose.
Pawtucket’s Drug Highway
Many have noticed Pawtucket’s relationship with substance abuse and its proximity to Rhode Island’s major interstates. Interstates 95, 195 and 295 pass through both Pawtucket and Providence into Boston and New York. These interstates are commonly used for drug transportation as drug dealers and criminals use the interstate to introduce illicit substances into those areas.

Staging An Intervention
Staging an intervention is an effective way to help people struggling with drug or alcohol abuse make decisions. Interventions include family members, friends, loved ones, and an intervention specialist. Everyone aims to help the individual struggling with substance abuse to come to terms with different things. Interventions can be informal, limited to 1 or 2 people and the individual with the substance abuse disorder, or a group of 5 to 10 people and the said individual. Costs vary depending on several factors when someone is considering staging an intervention.
The purpose of the intervention is for people to communicate with compassion to the individual with the substance abuse disorder. In interventions, the specialist can guide and encourage open conversation between members in the group. Typically, the end result is for everyone to express hurtful emotions, while the individual battling the drug dependence can decide to change their life. If interventions don’t work for a loved one with a chemical use disorder, they can opt for therapy in a facility. Future patients can choose between inpatient and outpatient treatment options. Both options offer benefits and differences.
