About Lakeland Behavioral Health System
Lakeland Behavioral Health System is a premier treatment center located in the Midwestern city of Springfield, Missouri. Lakeland has provided high-quality recovery care for more than 30 years, with patient-specific programs addressing a range of mental health issues (including disorders like chronic anxiety, suicidal ideation, PTSD, and schizophrenia) as well as co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
Individually-designed treatment programs are available for adults over the age of 60 and children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 20. Programs are separated by age, gender, and type of problem behavior, then personalized based on emotional and mental health needs. Lakeland offers inpatient and residential area treatment, independently prescribed to maximize each patient’s opportunity for successful, lifelong recovery. Lakeland’s treatment services are evidence-based and continuously updated by our medical professionals.
We provide round-the-clock care beginning with a thorough assessment, a complete diagnosis, and close guidance on achieving and maintaining stabilization. We then establish a follow-on plan after care ends. Inpatient programs take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks, while residential programs can last between 3 months and a year.
Care services include individual psychotherapy, family therapy, community/process groups, life skills training, safety and relapse prevention, anger management, recreational therapy, and creative expression activities that include art, music, cinema, play, and therapeutic pet therapy.
